NEHRA's 2019 Annual Award Luncheon

Please Note: Attendees of NEHRA's 2019 Annual Conference do not need to register via this page for the Luncheon.

The NEHRA Awards of Excellence Program is part of our ongoing effort to drive HR excellence. Each year, we recognize individuals and companies in the HR field for their outstanding contribution in areas such as innovation, leadership and volunteerism. The awards ceremony will take place the evening of September 27th, 2018 as part of NEHRA's Annual Conference. We will be awarding the following:

John D. Erdlen Founder’s Award

The John D. Erdlen Founder's Award is named after NEHRA’s founder, John D. Erdlen, and is presented to an individual who has consistently demonstrated excellence in HR through their leadership efforts, innovation and professionalism. Nominees must have a minimum of 10 years of HR experience and made significant contributions to the profession. NEHRA membership is not a requirement to be selected.

Bob Gatti Mentor of the Year Award

The Bob Gatti Mentor of the Year Award serves to honor Bob’s legacy by recognizing an individual whose mentoring efforts have left a tangible mark on one or more HR professionals. The award recipient will possess a record of providing career guidance; assisting others through career challenges and helping people succeed in a way they did not think was possible.

Barry Bograd Scholarship for SHRM HR Certification and Professional Development

This scholarship is presented in honor of Barry Bograd, one of the founding members of NEHRA. Along with John Erdlen, Barry helped to shape the foundation and direction of the association. Barry believed strongly in the role NEHRA played in developing the profession through education and support. We are honored to recognize Barry in this way – he was a true champion of the profession. In order to qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be a current NEHRA member and a full-time HR practitioner within an organization in Massachusetts (applications from NH and RI will also be considered). You must meet the requirements to apply for HR certification through SHRM for SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.

Fred Foulkes Scholarship for Academic Excellence

This special scholarship is presented in honor of Fred Foulkes, Director of the HR Policy Institute and Professor of Organizational Behavior at Boston University, and Senior Advisor to NEHRA, and is awarded annually. Applicants MUST be full-time graduate student at an accredited New England college or university. The selected recipient will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship at the Awards Celebration, held during the 2019 NEHRA Annual Conference.
