Using Emotional Intelligence to Interact and Collaborate throughout the Organization


Emotional Intelligence (EI) is about interpersonal savvy – relating well to all types of individuals, establishing relationships and building rapport to achieve goals, using diplomacy and tact to solve problems, resolve conflicts and negotiate for what you need. Strong emotional intelligence skills enable for improved relationships with your co-workers, manager and internal and external customers.

The ability to understand and control one’s own emotions as well as understand other people’s emotions enables for improvements in how we communicate and collaborate with others. We can’t begin to understand how to communicate effectively with others if we do not have emotional intelligence. 

Communication skills are an important component of EI. Effective, positive, well thought out oral and written communications enables you to express needs, influence others and improve listening – all part of emotional intelligence. 

This workshop includes an online self-assessment, and case studies, problem solving scenarios, discussions, role plays and team and individual activities are used throughout the day to strengthen EI and develop effective communication and collaboration strategies. Participants will create an action plan to continue to strength their emotional intelligence skills back on the job.

Presenter Bio

Gina Abudi, MBA has 25+ years’ of experience in helping global organizations develop and implement strategy around people, projects, and processes. In addition to leadership-focused consulting, Gina works closely with a variety of clients to develop and deliver customized workshops, seminars and training programs to meet long term strategic needs as well as to facilitate executive sessions and Board of Directors planning sessions. 

Gina is President of Abudi Consulting Group, LLC and an adjunct faculty member at New England College (teaching for corporate clients) and Granite State College (teaching in both the Masters of Science in Project Management and Masters of Science in Leadership programs.)  She is also an as-needed consultant with Oriel STAT A MATRIX, serving as the consulting VP of Program Management, leading all complex, global projects for Oriel.

Gina is a professional speaker, keynote and workshop presenter on a variety of management and leadership topics. She writes a number of white papers, case studies, and articles which can be found on her blog:

Gina is lead author of Best Practices for Managing BPI Projects: Six Steps to Success (J Ross Publishing, 2015.)  She is a contributing author to Project Pain Reliever (J. Ross Publishing, 2011). Gina’s most recent book on Implementing Positive Organizational Change: A Strategic Project Management Approach was published by J Ross Publishing in February, 2017. She is currently working on her next series of books focused on enhancing leadership skills.

Gina received her MBA from Simmons Graduate School of Management.
