PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

There is a growing body of opinion that wellness is the answer to controlling healthcare costs-and should be part of every organization's health management strategy.

Please join us for an informative and lively presentation and discussion on "The Roadmap to Wellness," presenting award-winning strategies and best practices for improving the health and productivity of your company's workforce.

Robin Bouvier, Assistant Vice President, Aon Consulting, will moderate this seminar which will include  insight into "The Influence of Leadership in Corporate Wellness" by internationally recognized health management authority, speaker, and author Michael Samuelson, President and CEO of the Health & Wellness Institute. 

Mark Converse, Human Resources Manager, Health Promotion & Safety for AAA of Southern New England will share his 15 years of human resources experience with implementing integrated, award-winning wellness and health management initiatives including "Creating a Worksite Culture of Wellness with a Return"

The program will conclude with an Employer Panel Discussion and Q&A Session.

Our Presenters:

Robin Bouvier is an Assistant Vice President in Aon's Health & Benefits Practice in Boston and has 16 years of experience in the employee benefits field. She is responsible for client account management and strategy development and has consulted on both corporate and public entities' active and post-retirement employee benefit programs. Robin's current clients are primarily located in the northeast and represent municipal, healthcare, education, manufacturing and retail industries. 

In her role as Account Manager for the City of Hartford, CT, Robin has overseen all of the City's health and benefits plans since 2006. She also participated in the Mayor's Task Force on retiree healthcare and is currently working with both Human Resources and the Department of Health and Human Services to improve health care quality for the City's residents through wellness/chronic condition management programs and provider quality initiatives.

Robin serves as Aon's Northeast Cluster Champion for wellness and health promotion, assisting Aon consultants and clients throughout the region in the development of employee wellness and chronic condition management programs. She is also the local subject matter expert on designing employee benefit plans to meet the needs of a multigenerational workforce.

Mark R. Converse is Human Resource Manager, Health Promotion & Sarety for AAA Southern New England.  AAA Southern New England is the 5th largest AAA in the United Stares with 1,800 employees in three states.

Mark has 15 years of experience developing award winning, results-oriented workplace porgrams.  He enjoys strategic development of health management initiatives and prevention-centered interventions.  At AAA, he applies principles of risk management to control operating expenses of health care, workers' compensation, and property liability insurance.  He has a record of improving the work environment through development and deployment of health, wellness and safety programs that support HR strategic initiatives.  He is a certified Instructor for AAA's Driver Improvement Program.

He has worked with major carriers like Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI, United Healthcare of New England, Liberty Mutual, Argonaut Group, and Beacon Mutual Insurance.  He has enjoyed working with forward-thinking partners, like the Health & Wellness Institute, who help integrate best-practices to impact AAA's employee population health and productivity.

In addition, Mark has a decade of experience working on statewide public health and wellness for the workplace.  He actively served as one of the founders and Presidents of the Wellness Council of Rhode Island, an affiliate of the Wellness Councils of America (WELCOA) and is currently on its Executive Committee & Board of Directors.  Governor Donald Carcieri appointed him to the Rhode Island State Wellness Steering Committee.

Michael H. Samuelson is President and CEO of The Health & Wellness Institute, SVP Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, and Adjunct Professor, The University of Rhode Island.  Over the past thirty plus years---from Boston to Brussels, London to Little Rock, Pittsburg to Paris and Hattiesburg to Havana---Michael Samuelson has lectured on leadership, health promotion, health policy, disease prevention and the dynamics of behavior change.  An author of five books and numerous articles on leadership and behavior change, his work has been featured on the ABC news program, 20/20, The CBS Morning Show, CNN and MSNBC as well as numerous national print publications.  Michael, a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Master's degree in education, is a Viet Nam Era veteran of the US Air Force (1967-1971) and a recipient of the Commander's Coin of Excellence from the US Army Cent for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine.

His writings, audio work and behavior change programs have been distributed to millions throughout the world and have been publicly endorsed by scientists, politicians, advocacy organizations, business leaders and media personalities including: George H.W. Bush (41), Betty Ford, C. Everett Koop, Jim Prochaska, Dee Edington, Ken Blanchard, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, and Larry King.

Practicing what he preaches, Michael is an avid world trekker with mountain adventures logged in Asia, Europe, Africa, Alaska and the U.S. lower forty-eight.
