Diversity and Inclusion

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee is committed to educating ourselves and our membership to the different dimensions of diversity that reflect the extraordinary differences found in today's workplace. We provide multiple opportunities to explore diversity and inclusion by examining attitudes, behaviors, strategies and visions that contribute to productive workplaces. We hold monthly Learning Forums from September through June. We give input to the annual NEHRA Diversity Dinner and the Diversity Seminar and we interface with AIM - a NEHRA project that partners with diverse professional communities. Monthly meetings are held September to May from 7:30 - 9:30 am in NEHRA office.

HR Metrics
This committee plans one 3/4 day seminar annually, usually in the first quarter of the calendar year. The committee identifies the topics for the seminar, selects speakers, and designs the format. Most meetings are held by conference call and most work occurs in the fall to plan for the event.

International
This committee plans one half-day seminar each year, usually in September. They also plan three smaller meetings, one each in the fall, winter and spring - with a presentation and open discussion around a relevant topic.

Legal & Legislative
Plans a winter event on emerging legislation and new regulations, a spring update, and a fall event as needed. Meets monthly September through May in NEHRA office.

Professional Development
NEHRA has earned an excellent reputation for the Professional Development Seminar series of 16 full-day programs annually. This committee plans eight programs at a time by creating a request for proposal and then evaluating the submissions. Six to eight planning meetings are held annually.
