Helping and Encouraging Employees to Embrace Change
Championing and Supporting Change Initiatives in Your Organization

Description
Change is necessary and provides the organization opportunities for growth. It is constant and can be stressful for nearly everyone in the organization; but everyone needs to be involved in championing, supporting and moving forward the change initiative in order for it to be successful.

A challenge for HR professionals is how to effectively champion and support change initiatives throughout the organization to keep employees engaged and motivated. To champion change we must get to the point where we see the value and benefit in the change – both for the organization and the individuals within the organization – and we need to sell that value and benefit to the employees.

This session enables participants to increase their own comfort, and the comfort of their employees in change initiatives within the organization and to more actively participate in such initiatives, all while remaining resilient. Common challenges around change initiatives will be shared as well as best practices to manage through those challenges yourself and to help employees to manage through those changes.

Through a variety of mini case studies, mini assessments, individual and team activities as well as discussions, participants will discuss how to manage their own as well as employees’ perceptions of change.

We will cover the following topics:

  • Best practices for getting the information you need from leaders and others during times of change
  • Awareness of the need for change, the process of change and the change cycle
  • Dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Sharing ideas and actively participating in change initiatives
  • Overcoming personal obstacles and challenges to change and helping others overcome their challenges
  • Managing negative influences of those around us, and personal feelings during change so that you can employees manage their approach towards change
