Webinar: Is Sitting the New Smoking? Ergonomic Wellness in Today's Workplace

Sitting creates havoc on the body. We were not meant to be sedentary creatures and many of us now sit constantly; during our commute to work, at a computer for 8 – 12 hours a day (or more), we sit in front of the TV when we get home or go back on the computer…. all this “sitting” is hurting our bodies making us prone to Muscular Skeletal Disorders (MSDs), and increasing our health risks of higher cholesterol levels and obesity.

Is Sitting the New Smoking? Ergonomic Wellness in Today's Workplace
Program Overview:

Sitting creates havoc on the body. We were not meant to be sedentary creatures and many of us now sit constantly; during our commute to work, at a computer for 8 – 12 hours a day (or more), we sit in front of the TV when we get home or go back on the computer…. all this “sitting” is hurting our bodies making us prone to Muscular Skeletal Disorders (MSDs), and increasing our health risks of higher cholesterol levels and obesity. Add poor body mechanics and not utilizing good ergonomic principles, you have set the stage for unnecessary injuries to occur…The good news is this is all preventable!

This comprehensive presentation will teach participants everything they need to know about ergonomics and injury prevention and will include:

  • Ergonomics 101 – Everything you need to know about how to set up your workstation and make you as comfortable as possible while you work.
  • Injury prevention from within – Easy ways to change your behavior and work habits to prevent injuries and unnecessary health risks.
  • Sitting Fit – A stretch breaks segment done in your chair that helps relieve muscular aches and pains in common areas affected by prolonged sitting.
  • Strategic Program Planning - What companies can do to create a proactive verses reactive ergonomics program.
  • Cost Savings - How a company can avoid spending money on ergonomists.
