Tapping the Talent of Employees with Asperger's Syndrome 

Program Overview:

Asperger’s Syndrome is a mild form of autism that impacts interpersonal communication skills. Yet it also confers specific strengths that make these individuals particularly well-suited to jobs requiring attention to detail and prolonged focus. 

The business community is beginning to recognize that people with Asperger’s Syndrome and high functioning autism can be terrific assets when they are in the right jobs, and receive the right supports. Computer software giant SAP has pledged that 1% of its workforce will be individuals on the autism spectrum. Discover the innovative ways that organizations are utilizing the specialized talents of this skilled, growing labor pool.

Barbara Bissonnette, Principal, Forward Motion Coaching


Barbara Bissonnette is the Principal of Forward Motion Coaching ( She specializes in career development coaching for individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome. She also provides consultation and training to organizations. 

Barbara is the author of the award-winning Complete Guide to Getting a Job for People with Asperger’s Syndrome and the Asperger’s Syndrome Workplace Survival Guide: A Neurotypical’s Secrets for Success. 

Prior to coaching Barbara spent more than 20 years in business, most recently as Vice President of Marketing and Sales for an information services firm. Barbara earned a graduate certificate in Executive Coaching from the Massachusetts School Professional Psychology and is certified by Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching.
