Wellness has been a ‘hot topic’ for many organizations for awhile now, but what’s next? What goals should your organization be setting? What data should you be measuring? Is your wellness program legal?


Join us for our next Wellness Seminar and get the answers to these, and other questions to help your organization’s wellness program get on track and stay on track. Mim Minichello and Josie Martinez, both of EBS Capstone, will share their expertise in this engaging 3 hour seminar, covering several topics in a ‘learning burst’ format.

Presenters:


Mim Minichello, Senior Partner and COO, EBS Capstone


As Senior Partner and Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Minichiello is responsible for operational oversight of EBS Capstone. As a seasoned health insurance executive she brings over 25 years of experience in developing and implementing sales/service strategies, refining processes for maximum client/firm value and creating highly effective teams.

In her role as Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Minichiello directs the integration of all line of business – employee benefits, property & casualty and financial services. Ms. Minichiello spearheads business development most recently helping to reengineer the new sales process. She also developed and implemented a business plan process to streamline workflow, maximizing client satisfaction. Ms. Minichiello provides strategic direction in the expansion of the firm’s offerings in order to provide employers with superior tools and services.


In addition she provides strategic advice and direction to employers on plan design, cost containment, strategic wellness initiatives, flexible benefits and state and federal compliance issues. She has spoken on numerous healthcare industry panels on national Health Care Reform, industry trends and best practices.

Ms. Minichiello comes to EBS Capstone from Tufts Health Plan where she held numerous leadership positions, her most recent being Vice President, Sales and Client Services. She was responsible for overseeing sales and client retention in all industries and market segments in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Prior to joining Tufts Health Plan Ms. Minichiello was director of client services and implementation at Private Health Care Systems.



Josie Martinez, Senior Partner and General Counsel, EBS Capstone

As Senior Partner and General Counsel at EBS Capstone, Ms. Martinez specializes in advising employers on legal and compliance matters that arise relating to ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA and other employee benefits related issues, as well as consulting on health and welfare plans. Ms. Martinez’s experience in navigating the legislative process, and analysis of regulations, will be a valuable resource for our clients as the complexities of Health Care Reform are being implemented over the next few years. As an attorney for the past 19 years, Josie brings a breadth of experience as an advisor on risk assessment, business strategies, contract negotiations, government investigations and regulatory compliance.

Ms. Martinez comes to EBS Capstone from McCarter & English LLP where she was a Partner in the Business & Financial Services Litigation Group representing private and public companies in all stages of litigation, settlement negotiations, mediation proceedings and arbitrations in complex commercial disputes.


Prior to joining McCarter & English LLP, Ms. Martinez also served as Deputy Legal Counsel to Governor Paul Cellucci and Executive Director of the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Council, where she administered all stages of the judicial nomination process. Prior to her tenure in Governor Cellucci’s office, Ms. Martinez served as Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Division of the Office of the Attorney General.

 


Dan Dent, Independent Consultant, Dent Communications

With more than 20 years in public relations and marketing, Dan Dent has built a foundation of experience that extends from technology and professional services, to health care, financial services, industrial, consumer and non-profit. He has worked as a journalist, corporate communications manager and public relations account director for a range of start-ups, pre-IPO ventures and Fortune 500 companies. Among his clients, Dan is valued for his creativity, publicity results, writing versatility, ease with senior executives, and contributions as a multimedia communicator – presentations, print publications, video programs, web content, and other communications. Dan currently works as an independent consultant at Dent Communications focused on public relations, corporate communications and social media.



Bill McCarthy, 
Director, Northeast US, Healthentic, Inc.


Bill has over 20 years in the Employee Benefits field with national consulting firms and health and wellness organizations, helping large employers and associations manage their human capital risks.


Bill worked for CIGNA and UPMC Health Plan, helping to develop their health and wellness services, and integrate them into a commercial offering. As a consultant, Bill has worked with HR and Benefits professionals to formulate and deploy strategies that improve employee health and productivity and contribute to companies’ bottom lines.

As Director, Northeast US, for Healthentic, Inc., Bill is helping employers leverage the power of their own data to inform their decisions, and measure and manage the effectiveness of their wellness programs.


Bill is a graduate of Colgate University. He is a Designated Group Benefits Associate and a member of the Worldwide Employee Benefits Network (WEB) and the National Wellness Institute. He writes and speaks nationally on topics regarding Employee Benefits and Employer-sponsored Health and Wellness programs. He lives in Hudson, Ohio, where he is active in his community’s civic and charitable organizations. Bill and his wife Jean have 2 children.

 

 

Sue Penchansky, Sr. VP, KGA Inc.

Sue Penchansky is Senior Vice President at KGA and brings over twenty years of Human Resources and Management Consulting experience. Sue brings twelve more years of experience with KGA, a human resources firm best known for a highly utilized EAP program with integrated Wellness. With expertise in employee engagement in mental wellbeing, Sue has worked across a variety of industries including healthcare, financial services, life sciences, technology and higher education. Sue’s passion at KGA is looking at engagement in mental wellbeing as a marketing challenge and identifying which creative and innovative communications approaches work best.
