Compassion and Courage Award, in memory of Cheryl Troy and Craig Wood
Bara Litman has been involved with NEHRA's ethics initiatives. For several years, she has worked consistently with NEHRA members who are in need of personal, confidential and private help for themselves via the Member's Assistance Program. Dr. Litman has shown commitment to the HR community beyond the "call of duty." Dr. Litman consults with hundreds of HR professionals in the New England community as they deal with crises, employee relations issues, deaths, critical incidents and ethical issues. She has made a significant difference with little fanfare; often working quietly on the phone, with little recognition. During 9/11 and the Katrina crisis she guided dozens of HR professionals through the steps of crisis intervention. In fact, she actually had a trailer driven up to Louisiana from Texas and placed in a parking lot, so that she could counsel both employees and HR folks during post-Katrina days. On top of her ongoing VP duties at Sobel & Raciti, she is a volunteer for the Red Cross, and also helps organizations and HR people who are unable to purchase help for crises. She is a professional who has truly made a difference in the lives of many people.
Congratulations Bara!
