Karen R. Young, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Karen Young is program administrator of development and diversity, human resources, for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Inc. As program administrator, Karen manages Harvard Pilgrim’s corporate management and supervisory development program and internal workforce diversity/inclusion initiatives. In each of these areas, she is planning for, directing, implementing and evaluating solutions/initiatives to build engagement, development and full workforce utilization. Prior to this role, Karen was a senior organization development consultant at Harvard Pilgrim, responsible for organizational & team effectiveness interventions, change management and training design and delivery. Karen has specialized in organization development, change interventions, leadership/ management development, and strategies to make a measurable difference in organizational performance for over 20 years. As a consultant, manager and trainer she has served organizations in the computer and automotive industries, state government, finance, health care, insurance and higher education. Her work included assisting organizations with utilizing the strengths of a diverse work group, developing diversity learning solutions to achieve business results, leading change initiatives to develop improved customer service outcomes, and developing others in the effective leadership of team processes. Karen engages the “audience”/group to facilitate improved business outcomes: more open and productive conversation on critical business issues, team practices, individual learning and enjoys the process. She holds a masters degree in social work from Boston University and a bachelors degree in education from Barrington College, in Rhode Island. Karen is an active NEHRA member, co-chairing the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender and Friends Special Interest Group. Congratulations Karen! |
